After seeing this one on TikTok for the last six months, I decided to take a trip as I had a show in Orlando for the Thanksgiving Weekend. Me and three friends journeyed over an hour to this place and we were in for a treat.
The Dough Show really does offer a show as your meal(s) are being prepared. You can see how your Egyptian/Lebanese style pizza are being made. We ordered the mixed grill platter along with the chicken sharma style pizza and it did not disappoint.
For dessert, ordered the rice pudding and it went down great. This place is worth the hype and worth a try.
Please note, this is an muslim owned business, please respect their religion and customs. Do not under any circumstances ask for alcohol.
+ PROS: - Dedicated Juice and coffee Bar
- You get to see how your meals are made
This isn’t your typical Trinbagonian Gyro place. Kebab station serves authentic Arabic food with a slight trini twist on the sides. My usual from here is the lamb kebabs or lamb tenderloin gyro. The pieces of lamb are seasoned and are very juicy. Pair this with their garlic paste and you are in foodie heaven. This is a lil more costly than the lamb gyros you are accustomed getting after liming on the ave, but it’s worth trying to understand authentic arabic food.
Although I visit Orlando once a year, I always make it my business to stop here. Their Trinidadian style Chinese Food is the closest thing I’ve had to Trinidad & Tobago.
Serious question: You ever had a food dream? Lemme tell you something, Shrimp wonton’s from Alvin’s gave my the most real food dreams ever. I went to bed one night imaging that I was devouring a dozen shrimp wontons. That’s how good these are. Chef Lystra does it extra trini style and dresses it up with garlic sauce, soy sauce, pepper sauce and Trini Swiss ketchup. I can finish a dozen of these easily.
I also enjoy their char siu kai fan, which is trini style roast pork, trini style chicken chicken with fried rice. Definitely some of the best Caribbean chinese food in Orlando.
+ PROS: - Great location within Caribbean neighborhood of Orlando
- Portion sizes are more than reasonable
I used to support the original Hakka restaurant at their Port of Spain location on Taylor Street. When they closed during the pandemic, I was saddened as the Express locations doesn’t hit the same, nor do I think the true Hakka experience translates well through their fast casual chains. When I heard Hakka Social opened in Brentwood Mall, I was excited to try it as they have an open air concept and a bigger menu compared to what was available in Woodbrook.
I am pleased to say that not only is the quality still consistent to what the Taylor Street location was, but it exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed the Chili garlic noodles, Lollipop chicken, fried wontons, and the hakka fish. I went with two other friends who also shared the same sentiments.
+ PROS: -Outdoor and indoor seating with AC
-Has express seating
- CONS:- AC inside is very cold
- Washrooms are small
I had a friend who was coming Trinidad for Carnival and I had a conflicting event and couldn’t pick up her costume at distribution. I used Kasey’s service and they were professional, picked up her costume and delivered it to my place of residence in Woodbrook. Would definitely use them again.
+ PROS: - Very professional
- Communicates
- Will deliver to your residence
- CONS:- A bit pricey but worth it so you don't miss your favorite fete(s)
Located in the heart of Chinatown, Dim Sum Go Go is a Michelin star rated restaurant. Despite the lack luster decor, this restaurant boasts some tasty dishes.
Dim Sum items ordered were the lamb roll, shrimp roll, crab stuffed dumplings, flaky pork pie and pepper stuffed shrimp.
Washed it down with some Japanese Asahi beer.
The service was great as the staff was very attentive and cleared the table once we were done with items.
One of the best Sunday Lunch creole establishments in the Maraval area. They serve a wide array of Sunday lunch items to make everyone happy. I ordered the stewed pork along with macaroni pie, callaloo, and cucumber and tomato salad. All items were delicious.
To drink, I had the orange grapefruit juice which was made in house. This was NOT good as it contains way too much sugar and mixed essence in it.
Overall the food is great and I would return. 9/10 for me. Perfect for days when you are craving a home made Sunday lunch.
+ PROS: Great food
- CONS:Service could a be a lil better and friendlier. Orange Grapefruit juice is full of mixed essence.
