The Quelimane Carnival is the top festival to attend and attracts many visitors to Mozambique. About 50,000 visitors. With that number a year the carnival creators of Quelimane take this festival seriously. The area where Carnaval takes place is called “little Brazil” so they know how to throw a carnival. Competition is high among carnival bands – or groups who design the many elaborate costumes dancers wear during the parade. Each of them strive to be the best of the best. Quelimane Carnaval shows off its African roots. The parade features choreographed his shaking smile inducing dance routines, rhythmic music and revelry all around.
