St. John Carnival

Carnival in the Virgin Islands is no a foreign affair. The people of the VI know how to throw a good carnival celebration. St. John’s carnival season lasts one month long where attendees celebrate with live music, food fairs, and steel band performances. The carnival season ends with a 4 th of July Carnival Parade. Don’t be fooled by St. John’s warm and small packaging, it seems as if the island doubles in size come time for the carnival parade. Revelers dress in costumes some don elaborate masks, others have giant float like costumes attached to their backs. You’re a reveler in costume or in your street clothes when the music trucks start pumping. When at St. John Carnival you’re on the street partying either way.
