Possibly the most desirably season to visit Louisiana, to visit the great New Orleans. The famed celebration draws in hordes of visitors for this legendary annual celebration. The Mardi Gras influence in New Orleans came from medieval Europe and from there its origins passed through Rome and Venice and later France and its colonies in the Louisiana. The parade show began with mask wearing participants, carriages, and horseback riders. From there different “krewes” were established and Mardi Gras evolved from being an exclusive private celebration to what is recognized as “The Greatest Free Show on Earth”.
