The carnival season in St. Thomas marks a time of unity. Unity among the local citizens as well as an invitation to outsiders – tourists and visitors alike – to extend themselves into longstanding culture of St. Thomas. Pageants are held to honor the inherit beauty and spirit of the people, calypso and soca musical performances start in contagiously good vibes, and the food, so much food. All these pre- carnival traditions are themselves found in the famed street parade. The good vibes brought on by the beat of soca music. The pageantry is present in the fantastically designed costumes modeled and danced in by the masqueraders. And after the parade you’ll find in the Carnival Village an assortment of food to your liking.
