Originally founded in 2006 by Michael C. Forde, the Virginia Caribfest initially began as a group of representatives to various Caribbean nations. These representatives were brought together to organize and promote the cultural traditions of nations represented. Yet, what began as a select group of Caribbean Islands representing, celebrating, and promoting their cultural has since expanded to an all-inclusive party. Today the Virginia Caribfest proudly displays Caribbean, Latin, and African music, food, and artistry. The Caribfest is friendly to non- locals, many who come across the U.S. and overseas to experience one of the best festivals in the state of Virginia.
