With over 500,000 spectators a year it is no question why Montreal’s CariMAS is one of the greatest festivals in Canada! Since the 1970s, the community of Montreal come together to revel in their beloved Caribbean heritage and culture. Carimas celebrations formed initially to honor enslaved ancestors. In recent times the festivities have spread themselves to include representation from Latin, South, and Central American nations and of course the Afro-Caribbean community. Montreal is one of the largest “melting pots” in North America and home to many cultures. This summer event is open to all the returnees and the newbies.
